The health system completed 897 transplants last year, marking a 3 percent increase from 2018.
Surgeons also performed Cleveland Clinic’s first purely laparoscopic living donor surgery for a liver transplant in 2019.
Nationwide, 39,718 organ transplants were performed last year, nearly 7,400 of which involved living donor transplants, according to data from the United Network for Organ Sharing.
