Children’s Hospital of Orange County Under Investigation For Surgical Error

Children’s Hospital of Orange County in Orange, Calif., is under investigation after a medical error occurred during a urology procedure earlier this month, according to an Orange County Register report.

In accordance to state law, the hospital reported the event to the state’s Department of Public Health. While state officials investigate the matter, the hospital said it would conduct an internal review to determine potential process improvements to prevent similar events in the future.

 

Specific details about the patient’s case were not made public. According to the report, the hospital has been under state investigation for medical errors three times since 2006.
