Patients and family members who witness deteriorating patient conditions should first call the patient’s nurse. If family members are unable to reach the nurse or another provider, they can call a hotline that will trigger a response from a rapid response team. Sheri Dahlstrom, CNO at Banner Desert and Cardon Children’s, said the hotline is equivalent to a 9-1-1 call from home.
Details about the hotline are posted in every patient room and on televisions at both hospitals.
