Alabama’s rates for catheter-associated urinary tract infections, central line-associated blood stream infections and surgical site infections associated with colon surgeries and abdominal hysterectomies were all lower than national averages, according to the report.
All metrics were reported to the Alabama Department of Public Health under the state’s Mike Denton Infection Reporting Act, legislation designed to combat HAIs.
