AHA Urges Hospitals to Complete Respiratory PPE Assessment

The American Hospital Association’s Health Research & Educational Trust has partnered with the Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management and Association of State and Territorial Health Officials to learn how well acute-care hospitals are equipping employees with respirators and other personal protective equipment, according to an AHA News Now report.

The Respiratory PPE Assessment was e-mailed to all hospital CEOs. AHA is requesting the assessment be completed and submitted by Aug. 10. State-specific data will be given to CDC and the National Institute of Occupational Safety. Data collection is intended to help CDC plan for future flu pandemics.
