The award recognized Advocate’s “green team” program. Dozens of these teams work within the system’s facilities to create awareness and identify and implement ways to improve sustainability.
“Going green has moved from novelty to necessity within our healthcare ministry,” Mary Larsen, manager of environmental stewardship at Advocate, said in a statement. “Our goal of creating the most efficient, least wasteful processes has a direct impact on patient care and good health outcomes.”
