8 Wisconsin hospitals with the cleanest rooms, as reported by patients

The following is a list of hospitals in Wisconsin for which 88 percent or more of patients reported that their room and bathroom were “always” clean on their HCAHPS surveys.

Data were pulled from CMS’ Hospital Compare’s most recently available data, from April 2014 through March 2015.

For reference, Wisconsin’s average rate for patients reporting their room and bathroom were “always” clean is 80 percent. The national average is 74 percent.

Note: Hospitals with insufficient data, such as having fewer than 100 completed surveys, were excluded.

1. Stoughton (Wis.) Hospital — 91 percent

2. Oakleaf Surgical Hospital (Altoona) — 90 percent

3. Spooner (Wis.) Health System — 90 percent

4. Vernon Memorial Hospital (Viroqua) — 89 percent

5. Ministry Door County Medical Center (Sturgeon Bay) — 89 percent

6. Sauk Prairie Hospital (Prairie du Sac) — 88 percent

7. Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital (Franklin) — 88 percent

8. River Falls (Wis.) Area Hospital — 88 percent
