79 Evidence-Based Disease, Injury Prevention Programs Recognized in New Report

The Trust for America’s Health and the New York Academy of Medicine have released a report, “A Compendium of Proven Community-Based Prevention Programs,” honoring 79 programs nationwide that have improved community health through evidence-based methods.

The report, supported by The Kresge Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is an updated version of the same report from 2009, according to a news release.

Highlighted programs have increased physical activity and reduced asthma, sexually transmitted infections, tobacco and alcohol abuse, violence and injury.
