The American Hospital Association is honoring six health systems during its Leadership Summit taking place July 20-22 for their work in community health and service.

Endeavor Health in Evanston, Ill.; IU Health in Indianapolis; Mass General Brigham in Boston; MedStar Health in Baltimore; and Rochester Regional Health in New York were awarded for their community health efforts. Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services received recognition for its community service programs.

The five health systems received the AHA Dick Davidson NOVA Award for initiatives focused on expanding care access, offering community resources such as health and wellness support, and addressing food insecurity.

Fairview Health Services, a 10-hospital system, received the AHA’s Foster G. McGaw Prize for Excellence in Community Service. The annual award recognizes one healthcare organization that demonstrates “exceptional commitment to community health,” according to the AHA.

Fairview runs several programs centered on community services and health quality improvement, including a food is medicine initiative and a partnership that delivers free clinical services and vaccinations.
