5 New York City hospitals with best patient reviews

It is hospitals’ jobs to provide patients with the best quality care possible, and part of that includes ensuring each patient’s hospital stay is satisfactory. According to recent Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and System survey scores, the following 5 hospitals received the highest patient ratings of all 11 hospitals in New York City.

1. Hospital for Special Surgery — 88 percent of patients gave the hospital an overall rating of 9 or 10 on a scale from 0 (lowest) to 10 (highest).

2. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital — 74 percent

3. NYU Hospitals Center — 71 percent

4. NY Eye and Ear Infirmary — 71 percent

5. Mount Sinai Hospital — 66 percent

Editor’s note: At least 300 patients completed the HCAHPS survey at each hospital except for NY Eye and Ear Infirmary, where between 100 and 299 patients completed the survey.
