All team members at the hospital will receive vaccinations out of an abundance of caution, said a spokesperson for Ballad Health, which owns the hospital.
“We have been in close contact with the health department, and we are working closely with them to notify and offer vaccination to other individuals who have had contact as well,” hospital officials said in a statement obtained by WJHL.
Although Tennessee typically averages four to five acute hepatitis A cases per year, the state has reported 647 cases since December 2017.
