Hospitals participants in the Hospital IQR program submit data on hospital-acquired conditions, which will be collected and reported on HHS’ Hospital Compare website in October and will be used for the hospital value-based purchasing program.
Hospitals are receiving a copy of their hospital-specific reports, which include hospital-acquired condition measure calculations as part of a preview period before the information is made public on Hospital Compare. The hospital-specific reports include updated HAC calculations for foreign retained objects after CMS decided to include medical discharges in addition to surgical discharges.
