Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health, the hospital’s owner, reportedly filed a submission to transfer the center’s inpatient rehabilitation beds on April 1 to other units within the facility, according to a Jan. 4 news release from the state’s DOH.
Patients needing inpatient rehabilitation will be referred to skilled nursing facilities, swing beds, or additional facilities outside the center, the release said.
An integrated health system, Sanford Health has 46 medical centers with 222 clinic locations, 2,800 physicians and advanced practice providers, and 44,000 employees, according to its website.
Becker’s has reached out to the center for comment regarding the planned closure and hearing.
