The gift will establish the Huntsman Mental Health Institute within the university’s department of psychiatry and a full-service psychiatric hospital.
The donation will also support mental health services and screenings for the university’s students and expand access to mental health services in rural communities in Utah.
This is not the first major gift the Huntsman family has given the university. In 1995, the family donated $100 million to establish the Huntsman Cancer Institute on the campus.
The Huntsman family owns Huntsman Corp., an $11 billion global chemical manufacturer and marketer.
