The Mental Health Reform Act includes provisions to establish a CMO at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, create an interdepartmental committee to coordinate mental health services, establish a national hotline 24/7 for suicide prevention and address patient privacy issues in regards to mental health, according to Roll Call.

However, the measure is narrow, according to The Hill, and additions from other committees are expected.
