RWJF hosts discussion on how communities can bolster health in wake of disasters

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is hosting an online discussion Dec. 4 on how U.S. communities, states and federal agencies can improve and restore community health and the healthcare infrastructure in the wake of a disaster.

The discussion is particularly timely considering the recent release of an IOM report that suggests communities can both “mitigate the health damage caused by disasters and recover in ways that make them healthier and more resilient” by planning ahead.

The panelists for the discussion are:

  • Susan Dentzer (moderator), senior policy adviser to the RWJF
  • Paul Kuehnert, DNP, RN, director of RWJF’s Bridging Health & Health Care Portfolio, an organization that facilitates collaborative work on public health system transformation
  • Reed Tuckson, MD, managing partner of Tuckson Health Connections, a private consulting organization focused on value-added health interventions
  • Jennifer Leeflang, RN, senior vice president of Partners in Care, a subsidiary of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York

The discussion will be held on Google+ Hangout from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. ET.
