The Mayo Clinic National Health Check-Up survey was conducted in December 2015 and includes responses from more than 1,000 adults (18 years and older) living in the continental United States.

Based on the responses, Americans’ health-related concerns change over a lifetime. Here are the issues that people discuss most during different decades of their lives:

  • 20s — Healthy meal options
  • 30s — Maintaining health weight, parents’ health problems
  • 40s — Maintaining health weight, children’s health problems
  • 50s+ — Their own health problems
