CDC epidemiologist sent 'disturbing' text to family day before disappearance

The parents of missing CDC employee Dr. Timothy Cunningham told Cleveland's FOX News station they received a disturbing text from their son the day before his disappearance nearly two months ago, according to Atlanta's FOX 5.

Dr. Cunningham's parents would not elaborate further on the contents of the text message, but the epidemiologist's father said he shared the information with investigators. The Atlanta Police Department told Becker's via email the department had "no new updates to share concerning this investigation."

Dr. Cunningham, a 35-year-old epidemiologist and alumni of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, was last seen Feb. 12 leaving CDC's headquarters in Atlanta. His family later found his phone, wallet, vehicle and dog at his home.
