“No senior should have to choose between medications they need to be healthy and putting food on their table,” Sec. Sebelius said.
Dr. Berwick said the basic premium for standard Medicare Part D will be about $30 per month in 2012, lower than this year’s premium of $30.76.
Sec. Sebelius added that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has helped nearly 900,000 Medicare beneficiaries save $460 million on prescriptions.
