Mr. Yost initially sought mediation in the dispute on behalf of the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, which hired OptumRx to manage prescription benefits.
“It’s been 30 days, and we only just now have a meeting scheduled to talk,” Mr. Yost told The Columbus Dispatch.”Time’s up; give us our money.”
In mid-February, Mr. Yost sent a letter to OptumRx asking them to repay $16 million to the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. In the letter, Mr. Yost claims that OptumRx has overcharged the bureau since 2015. In particular, the PBM overcharged the bureau $6 million in 2015, $2.7 million between the beginning of 2016 and the end of October 2016 and $7.2 million between Nov. 1, 2016, and Oct. 27, 2018.
An OptumRx spokesperson told The Columbus Dispatch that the “allegations are without merit” and they are “working with the state to resolve the bureau’s concerns.”
