Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines has opened the Methodist Atrium Pharmacy,, according to a May 29 report from CBS affiliate KCCI.
The pharmacy is located at the hospital and is open to the public. Patients do not need an existing relationship with UnityPoint Health to use its services.
The new location will provide a convenient option for patients after clinic appointments and support UnityPoint Health–Des Moines’ Meds to Beds program, which delivers prescription medications to patients at discharge, Brian Benson, PharmD, executive director of pharmacy for UnityPoint Health–Des Moines, told KCCI.
The pharmacy will also operate as a milk depot in partnership with Mother’s Milk Bank of Iowa, distributing donated breast milk.
