Durham, N.C.-based Duke Health has partnered with Shields Health Solutions, a specialty pharmacy integrator, to expand its pharmacy operations.
With the partnership, Duke Health aims to broaden access to medications for patients with complex chronic conditions by improving operations efficiency and expanding support services, according to a May 13 news release from Shields Health Solutions.
Patients who fill prescriptions at Duke Specialty Pharmacy will have access to personalized care services, including help with medication adherence, regular follow-ups, side effect management, financial assistance and home delivery of medications.
The partnership also leverages Shield Health Solutions’ broader access to payer networks and a wider range of specialty drugs, which Duke Health said will give patients more options for where and how they receive their medications.
