Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health has appointed Cedric Terrell, PharmaD, as its chief pharmacy officer, according to his LinkedIn page.

Dr. Terrell previously served as chief pharmacy executive at University of California Health in Oakland, where he expanded specialty and retail pharmacy access, strengthened pharmacy benefit partnerships and advocated for the federal 340B program.

At University of California Health, he also led development of a systemwide pharmacy strategy to enhance alignment between inpatient and outpatient services.

In a farewell note to colleagues, Dr. Terrell wrote, “Together, we’ve shaped what a system strategy can be,” and said he looks forward to “continuing our shared commitment to advancing pharmacy services for the people who rely on us.”
