A Senate bipartisan working group that focuses on the 340B program recently welcomed three new members.
On March 21, Sens. Tim Kaine, D-Va., Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., and John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., joined the cohort, which also includes Sens. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., and Shelley Capito, R-W.Va.
In February 2024, the Senate 340B bipartisan working group published a legislative discussion draft on how to enhance 340B program integrity.
The recommendations include defining a 340B “patient,” the eligibility of child sites, preventing duplicate discounts and ensuring equitable treatment. The group also proposed allocating $3 million to conducting audits, investigations, oversight and enforcement activities associated with the 340B program.
