WellPoint changes name to Anthem

Indianapolis-based health insurer WellPoint has officially changed its corporate name to Anthem, a move the company initially announced earlier this year.

President and CEO of Anthem Joseph Swedish expressed excitement over the name change. “The change to Anthem will help us better communicate our values and simplify the way we connect with our associates, consumers, investors, and the communities we call home,” he said.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the insurer will begin trading under the ticker symbol ANTM.
