Mr. Delrahim worked for Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck before joining President Trump’s transition team in January. Mr. Delrahim lobbied for Anthem in 2016, when the insurer was pursuing its $54 billion merger with Bloomfield, Conn.-based Cigna. While the merger was blocked in February over antitrust concerns, Anthem is appealing the decision.
President Trump has not officially announced Mr. Delrahim as his pick. If chosen and approved by the Senate, Mr. Delrahim would oversee corporate consolidations for the antitrust department.
