Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare signed a multiyear agreement that will allow Humana members to access the system's hospitals, outpatient centers and employed physicians at in-network rates through May 2023, the companies said Jan. 15.
Ron Rittenmeyer, Tenet's executive chairman and CEO, said in a prepared statement, "We are pleased to have reached this agreement with Humana, and look forward to continuing to provide their members with high-quality care and trusted service today and into the future."
The two companies have hit contract snags in the past. In October 2016, Tenet dropped Humana health insurance plans after failed contract negotiations. Seven months after the contract ended, the parties reached a multiyear agreement to reinstate in-network access to all Tenet providers.
