The notices read: “We are now out of network with Humana. Despite our repeated efforts to find common ground, Humana made it clear they would rather compromise your access to our doctors and hospitals rather than work together to complete a contract,” according to the report.
Tenet and Louisville, Ky.-based Humana cut ties Sept. 30 and went out of network the following day. The payer said it is still trying to negotiate a contract with Tenet, but said the provider could not agree with Humana’s terms.
In its notice, Tenet told patients emergency care was not affected and “continuity of care” coverage may be offered to patients with long-term or scheduled treatment, reports The Palm Beach Post.
