Orlando Health, Aetna roll out joint health plan: 4 things to know

Orlando (Fla.) Health and Aetna will launch a new employee-sponsored health plan June 1.

Here are four things to know.

1. The product, Aetna Whole Health — Orlando, will be available in the greater Orlando area. Employers with 100-plus employees can enroll in the plan in Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties June 1. Employers with 100 or fewer employees can begin enrolling July 1.

2. Orlando Health and Aetna said "the product will offer employers a healthcare model designed to improve quality, efficiency and the patient experience, as well as control costs. Companies can save up to 15 percent when compared to Aetna's broad network plans."

3. Under the collaboration, Aetna will pay Orlando Health providers for meeting quality, efficiency and patient satisfaction metrics. Some examples include reducing hospital readmission rates and emergency room visits.

4. New policyholders will gain access to about 2,700 providers, eight hospitals and almost a dozen walk-in clinics and urgent care centers.
