IU Health Plan officials attributed the exit to “heightened financial uncertainty” created by the withdrawal of several other insurers, including UnitedHealthcare and Southeastern Indiana Health Organization.
The change affects about 27,000 enrollees. The insurer will offer individual plans off the exchange in the 62 counties it serves.
Five carriers will now offer individual plans on the exchange next year — Anthem, CareSource Indiana, Coordinated Care, Celtic Insurance and MDwise.
