Humana is expanding its social determinants of health initiative, Bold Goal, to include veterans, the insurer said Nov. 10.
The initiative focuses on addressing factors such as food, transportation and loneliness as social health determinants.
"Through our national Veteran Bold Goal community, we'll leverage the power of committed partners and stakeholders to create solutions that help veterans achieve their best health," said Andrew Renda, MD, vice president of Bold Goal and population health strategy for Humana. "We're proud to add the veteran population to our Bold Goal strategy as it furthers our enterprise commitment to serving those who’ve served our country."
Humana also earned a top designation as a military-friendly employer from Viqtory Media. Humana has hired 6,100 veterans and military spouses since 2011 when it rolled out its hiring initiative for veterans.
