Other companies are also returning to the exchange opening Nov. 1, including Chicago-based Land of Lincoln Health and Urbana-based Health Alliance.
Although all the companies have been approved to sell plans to customers, only Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Land of Lincoln and Health Alliance will sell to small businesses. The number and type of available plans is still to be determined.
For the enrollment period ending in February, almost 350,000 Illinoisans enrolled in one of over 400 insurance plans offered by eight companies.
