Feds encourage insurers to offer 6 simple choice plans this fall

HHS is encouraging health insurers to offer six new simple choice plans — which standardize deductibles and annual cost-sharing limits — in an effort to ease plan selection, Kaiser Health News reports.

Here are the six standardized options, including deductibles and cost-sharing limitations.

1. Bronze
Deductible: $6,650
Annual cost-sharing limitation: $7,150

2. Silver
Deductible: $3,500
Annual cost-sharing limitation: $7,150

3. Silver, 73 percent actuarial value variation (for individuals with qualifying incomes)
Deductible: $3,000
Annual cost-sharing limitation: $5,700

4. Silver, 87 percent actuarial value variation (for individuals with qualifying incomes)
Deductible: $700
Annual cost-sharing limitation: $2,000

5. Silver, 94 percent actuarial value variation (for individuals with qualifying incomes)
Deductible: $250
Annual cost-sharing limitation: $1,250

6. Gold
Deductible: $1,250
Annual cost-sharing limitation: $4,750
