Mr. Reed has been the organization’s CEO-elect since July 2020. He is succeeding Christopher Booth, who officially retired May 4, according to a press release.
Mr. Reed, who joined Excellus BCBS in 1996, held previous roles as the company’s executive vice president of marketing and sales and Central New York regional president.
Excellus BCBS consists of 3,900 employees and 1.5 million members across 39 New York counties.
