CVS Health could reach a deal to buy Aetna for $66 billion-plus by the end of November, according to a Hartford Courant report.
Sources familiar with the matter told Dow Jones Monday the deal is driven by Amazon's possible entry into the pharmacy market. Previous reports projected the deal could be inked in December.
Aetna's shares closed at $174.97 Monday following the news. This is lower than the $200 per share CVS Health reportedly offered Aetna in late October, when news of the deal surfaced.
