The funds are a two-year commitment for organizations that help at-risk individuals navigate healthcare and social services systems. Chosen nonprofits include mental illness facilities, outreach clinics and wellness centers, among others.
“By focusing our giving on community health navigation, the Cigna Foundation is supporting the work of those nonprofits who are helping to eliminate health disparities in communities nationwide by addressing the medical and non-medical needs of the underserved,” said David Figliuzzi, executive director of the Cigna Foundation.
The foundation will announce more navigation grants later this year and in 2017.
