Centene receives regulatory nod to buy New York insurer for $3.75B

The New York Department of Health and the New York Department of Financial Services each approved insurer Centene's bid to acquire Fidelis Care for $3.75 billion, Centene announced April 23.

Centene and Fidelis Care entered into an asset purchase agreement last September, under which a Centene subsidiary would purchase the majority of Fidelis Care's assets.

The deal is pending approval from the New York Attorney General and is subject to customary closing conditions.
