Anthem BCBS will allow eligible policyholders to contact a U.S.-based, board-certified network physician via smartphone, tablet or computer at no extra cost. Members will use LiveHealth Online’s platform to connect with physicians 24/7.

“This technology can be a great alternative in a number of situations, including accessing healthcare on evenings and weekends, for people living in rural areas or who travel a lot, and those with mobility issues,” John Caby, Medicare president of Anthem’s east region, said in a prepared statement.
