Arkansas governor wants new boundaries for Medicaid expansion

Arkansas' current Medicaid expansion program may have some additional changes in the coming year, according to THV11.com.

The state's current program, which provides coverage for over 200,000 citizens, was created in 2013 as a substitute to traditional Medicaid expansion.

However, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson (R) hopes to set new limits on the program. In a Dec. 29 letter to HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell, Gov. Hutchinson outlined his plan to restrict some assets and require certain citizens to pay a premium.

A spokesperson from his office said Gov. Hutchinson will meet with Secretary Burwell this month to talk about the changes.
