ACA plan enrollment up 97k from last year

In the fourth week of open enrollment, CMS officials said HealthCare.gov witnessed 97,000 more plan selections this year than at this point last year.

More than 2.1 million people enrolled in health plans on the public exchange since open enrollment commenced Nov. 1. Enrollments throughout the third and fourth weeks of open enrollment alone reflect an increase of 167,000, compared with the same period last year.   

CMS said more than half a million new enrollees and 1.6 million returning customers used the HealthCare.gov platform since Nov. 1.
