With insurer exits like Aetna, UnitedHealthcare and its subsidiary Harken Health, approximately 70,000 Illinois residents who purchased health plans through the marketplace will need to find new plans. Chicago-based Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois will be the only insurer in Madison, St. Clair, Monroe, McHenry, Lake, Kendall and Grundy counties.

According to the report, Illinois will hire more than 600 employees to help consumers during open enrollment, which begins Nov. 1.
