Patient, medics injured in IU Health ambulance crash

A patient and three medics were injured after an IU Health ambulance collided with a semitruck in Blackford County, Ind., according to local news station WRTV.

The IU Health-LifeLine Ambulance rear-ended the semi and sustained significant damage, the Blackford County sheriff told the news station.

The ambulance had been on emergency transport, bringing a patient to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Ind., when the crash occurred. 

The medics were Shawn Blair, 40, Travis Huff, 25, and Tamara McCammon, 50, according to local station WANE. The identity of the patient in the ambulance was not released.

The conditions of the medics and patient are unknown. 

The truck driver was not injured.
