Man fatally shoots himself at Baylor Scott & White hospital

A 45-year-old man fatally shot himself April 3 at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The man was pronounced dead at 4:07 a.m. in a room on the hospital's seventh floor, according to records from the Tarrant County (Texas) medical examiner's office. It is unclear whether the man was a patient at the hospital.

Baylor Scott & White shared the following statement with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram: 

"The safety and security of everyone on our campus is a top priority. We want to thank our staff and public safety department for quickly responding to an incident early this morning when a weapon was discharged on our campus. The self-inflicted injury was fatal, and we are working with those involved to provide emotional and psychological support. As this situation is currently under investigation, we are limited on the information that can be provided at this time."
