Survey: Patient engagement technology can provide insight, support predictive analytics

For the report, NEJM Catalyst asked healthcare executives and clinicians to identify the top benefits of using patient engagement technology tools.

Here are the five most popular responses:

1. Support patients in efforts to be healthy: 67 percent

2. Provide input on how patients are doing when not in clinic: 60 percent

3. Allow for better predictive analytics around patient health and more timely intervention: 51 percent

4. Augment current capabilities of bricks-and-mortar health system: 47 percent

5. Offer extra motivation to patients, since they know clinicians will observe data: 29 percent
