Valdosta, Ga.-based SGMC Health launched a platform that allows patients to order and track their hospital meals digitally.

The platform, MyDining, enables patients to order meals using in-room tablets, personal devices or assistance from a patient dining associate or call center. The program integrates directly with the hospital’s EHR to automatically account for allergies, diet restrictions and care-team updates, according to a March 26 system news release.

The new system gives patients greater control, flexibility and enhances experience around meals, the system said.

“MyDining restores a sense of normalcy by allowing patients to choose what they eat, while ensuring those choices always align with their clinical needs,” Jason Childress, director of food services, said in the news release. “It’s a meaningful step forward in delivering care that is both high‑quality and deeply human.”
