Deborah Vinje, a radiology technician, was heading to her car after her shift Jan. 19, at the same time Cory and Kelly Schultz had arrived at the hospital to have their baby. The baby was coming too fast, and Mrs. Schultz had to lie down before she could make it inside, according to the report.

Ms. Vinje saw Ms. Schultz was in labor, and that the baby was already on the way. She asked Ms. Schultz to push and was shortly thereafter holding a newborn baby girl, named Kannon.

According to the report, the medical team later arrived, the umbilical cord was cut and the team wrapped both Ms. Schultz and Kannon up in warm blankets.

The Schultzes only found out Ms. Vinje’s first name the night of the delivery, amid everything going on, but were later able to find her and thank her.

“The best part is that it ended well with everyone healthy,” Mr. Schultz said, according to the Post-Bulletin. “By the grace of God, the right person walked through the door at the right time.”
