The program is limited to patients undergoing knee replacement living within 90 minutes of the UAB Highlands Hospital. Patients will receive two physical therapy sessions and must be able to walk 150 feet to be sent home the same day as surgery.

Surgeons in the UAB’s joint replacement program perform more than 1,000 hip and knee replacements yearly.
