Four of six surgery rooms in the $118 million hospital will specialize in orthopedics and a 34-bed unit with its own physical therapy department dedicated to total joint replacement.
The 95-bed facility mimics a hotel, with curved hallways and cabinets that hide medical equipment, and it sits on a 49-acre lot with a lake, healing garden and outdoor dining.
So that nurses can be closer to patients, Methodist West has eliminated central nursing stations and instead provides alcoves equipped with supplies and charts between every two patient rooms.
