The multidisciplinary program will provide comprehensive care for children with complex neuromuscular and orthopedic conditions. Physicians with the pediatric orthopedic program are also part of the RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group, according to a Feb. 10 news release from the West Orange, N.J.-based health system.
The program will bring together specialists from different disciplines, including orthopedic surgery, physiatry, physical therapy and occupational therapy.
Pediatric patients will have access to inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, surgery at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and physical and occupational therapy from CSH. Orthotists will also be on site to address patients’ bracing needs, according to the release.
Specialists will treat conditions including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, hip dysplasia, scoliosis, fractures and other orthopedic and neuromuscular disorders, including arthrogryposis, upper limb congenital differences and tendon repairs.
