Owner of closed Tennessee hospital seeks to buy other closed hospital, create ASC — 3 insights

Johnny Presley, owner of Celina, Tenn.-based Cumberland River Hospital, is attempting to buy Jamestown (Tenn.) Regional Hospital for $1 million, the Herald-Citizen reports.

What you should know:

1. Mr. Presley is attempting to purchase the hospital from a private seller.

2. At Jamestown, Mr. Presley said he is applying for a certificate of need to open an outpatient emergency room, diagnostic center and surgery center. He said he wants to do this to “basically provide the services, just not admitting patients.”
